A unique kayak course intended to introduce you to creeking.
The course is perfect for those who are
already comfortable on class III and are looking to progress on to more advanced whitewater!
The goal is to
improve your skills on class III+ and IV whitewater by visiting new, challenging, rivers everyday. The trip
starts on the beautiful Salza River where you will warm up and prepare for the rest of the trip.
Salza you will learn how to boof on a smaller creek containing 46 separate drops up to 3 meters in height.
With your new boof skills you will move on to class III+ and IV rivers and finally, finish at the 5m Laussa Falls!
The following skills will be worked on during the trip:
Subjective and objective dangers and how to avoid them on the river
What can be met on the river and how to deal with it. Evaluation of difficulty and how to decide when we
are ready to run certain places followed by defining possible lines on water from moderate to difficult
BOOF techniques and training
How to BOOF and polish our creeking technique in controlled and moderate water difficulty.
Advanced creeking knowledge
Safety equipment workshops, safety practice and proper throw bag techniques
Eskimo roll workshops
Mastering eskimo rolls, exercises and theoretical workshops. How to bring safety into your kayaking by
getting better at rolling.
Long term development
We aim not just to help you out during that week, but also to provide you with all the understanding and
knowledge to continue your development.
All courses are performed on rivers that other people rarely visit for Alpine trips - Salza, Hinterwildalpen,
Koppentraun, Lammer and/or Rettenbach (depending on water levels).
The focus moves each day and
difficulty grows higher as the trip and your skills develop providing a measurable program for your ability.
This week-long package will be run by Bartosz Czauderna.
He has been a professional kayaker for 10
years.Bartosz has paddled and coached on over a hundred rivers across many countries and has extensive
experience in running safe and rewarding sessions, and in providing a professional, relaxed and fun
environment off the water!
All the LiLi coaches are highly experienced and qualified. They live for the enjoyment of kayaking and the
challenge and reward of coaching. This makes coaching with LiLi fun and inspiring and it drives the coaches
to make every session rewarding and enjoyable.
N.B. If there are more than four people per coach on the course, then another of the LiLi team member will
join Bartosz to ensure you still get plenty of individual coaching.
Outside of paddling
In the evenings we are going to analyse learned skills and techniques with video analysis. There are also
numerous possible hikes in the area for anyone interested.
