Why do you coach?
Because I am happy to help those who want to learn how to kayak on my favorite river – the White Nile – where I learned to kayak myself. It is like my second home so I know all its secrets!
Why do you love kayaking?
I love to kayak because I meet many people from different countries. I make friends that I can exchange interesting stories with. It is my passion that’s become part of my life as my job and it helps me to visit other places.
Highlights from your kayaking life?
My favourite days in kayaking were when I moved out of Africa to take a part in the World Championships in Canada in 2015 as a Ugandan Team representative. Making it to the Ugandan team was a great experience and competing in the World Championships was the realisation of a dream for me.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I used to make wine at home and also food processing as a small business when I started kayaking. Before the kayaking I was running a small shop in Bujagali village that I’m happy to show any visitors!
