Trip to Creeking paradise

Chile is one of the most versatile and accessible places to paddle in the world. Our new Chile Pucon trip takes you on big volume rivers, low volume creeks, waterfalls, steep rapids, boulder gardens and more. Incredible scenery and easy access to a wide range of whitewater along the way makes this kayaking experience one to remember. Choose to paddle either the Pucon or Futaleufu sections on their own or combine both for an epic 24 day paddling adventure.

The following itinerary may change to suit the needs of the group.

Day 1 - Santiago to Teno River

Welcome to Chile! Arrive in Santiago and drive 2-3 hours to the Teno River. Set up camp for the night on the river, ready to start paddling tomorrow.

Day 2 - Teno River

Warm up on a river run on the Class III-IV Teno River. Both the lower and upper river sections are big and bouncy with the occasional large hole. Camp for the night.

Day 3 - Claro River

Drive to the Claro River to paddle the famous 7 Tea Cups (7 waterfalls). Big waterfalls and beautiful gorges offer stunning back drops for photographs over a one kilometre section of the Claro. Camp inside the national park for the next two nights.

Day 4 - Claro River

More waterfalls today as you navigate another 22 waterfalls over three kilometres. Drive to Nuble River and camp for the night.

Day 5 - Nuble River

Run the Nuble River with its big white boulders, clear blue water and good class IV kayaking. If the water is at the right level playboating is great fun here! Camp by the river for the night.

Day 6 - Pucon

Drive to Pucon, the adventure capital of Chile where you’ll be based for the rest of your trip in cabins on the Palguin River. Paddle the Class III Lower Liucura or Lower Trancura River today.

Day 7 - Palguin River

Walk from your cabin to the Upper Palguin River put in. Today is full of spectacular waterfalls and you’ll have plenty of stories to tell over dinner at the cabin tonight.

Day 8 - Pucon Rest Day

Today can either be a rest day where you chill out or explore the town of Pucon. If you’re up for more adventure you can climb the nearby Villarrica volcano.

Day 9 - Nevado or Llancahue River

Today is full of big drops and big slides – solid Class IIII and V sections where you can challenge yourself.

Day 10-11 - San Pedro River

Overnight expedition on the San Pedro River. Often referred to as the Mini Futaleufu River of the north, the San Pedro is big and pushy and mainly consists of big rapids. The water colour is nothing short of spectacular!

Day 12 - Santiago

Drive or fly back to Santiago for your return journey home.

Due to the nature of adventure kayaking, the following itinerary has to remain flexible. The LiLi team have coached many hundreds of people with a wide range of abilities and backgrounds on big volume across the world. This local knowledge will be used to adjust the itinerary to suit the individuals and to maximise progression over the course of the trip.

Is this the right trip for me?

Intermediate / advanced paddlers. If you have a reasonable level of fitness, a solid whitewater roll and you are confident on grade 3+ there will be plenty of fun to be had on the Zambezi.

A minimum group size of 8 is need to be reached for this trip to go ahead.

Itinerary

The following itinerary may change to suit the needs of the group.
