Why Mexico?

Veracruz is a state in Mexico which is home to many rivers that run through steep gorges and thick Jungle. Probably the most popular of these rivers with kayakers is the almost unbelievable Alseseca.

Each section winds its way through beautiful jungle gorges which are stacked with amazing rapids and waterfalls…it really is a kayaker’s dream! Some of our pictures capture the feeling of dropping through such special gorges, which only allow you to see their beauty if you’re prepared to kit up and commit to entering them in your kayak!

Trip run in partnership with:

Is this the right trip for me?

Intermediate / advanced paddlers. If you have a reasonable level of fitness, a solid whitewater roll and you are happy to run creeks, drops, slides and waterfalls on class IV then there will be plenty of fun to be had in Mexico.

A minimum group size of 7 is need to be reached for this trip to go ahead.

Is there a possbility to rent a kayak?

Kayak rental is $280 for a duration of the course for kayak based on availability. We can also rent you a paddle at $150 per trip. When renting please be sure to bring 2 air bags and additional hip pads/foam bits that you would have in your boat. We usually source private boats and these won’t have these pieces.

I got a nice flight arriving earlier/leaving later, is there a place you can recommend to stay?

For accomodation in Mexico City we would recommend this hotel; it is comfortable and reasonable price for quality, you can find cheaper ones a bit further but then it involves taxi/travelling. It is literally next to Terminal 1 so could even walk there. We also know it is safe and very comfortable which after a long travel will definetly be appreciated!
